UCLA Architecture and Urban Design is a champion of ideas and their articulate expression. Our exceptional faculty teach students to engage the world around them, to see ideas as opportunities for reflection and imagination, and to leverage design and writing as productive forms of response. These ideas are grounded in a critical engagement with the history and theory of architecture and the future contingencies of contemporary culture. Through rigorous inquiry, we interrogate contemporary urban issues and propose possible futures with equal measures of expertise, optimism, and vision.

My time at UCLA has oriented me towards a clear regenerative design path focusing on housing, landscape, and alternative means of ownership, manifesting theoretically and formally through fixed necessities and fluid peripheries. Spatial means of design affords us the ability to agitate complacency and privilege, as well as rebuild systems which deny equity and access to necessities, which I plan to focus on throughout my career.

My body of work tackles the challenges of our time (affordable urban housing and energy conservation) with the approach that architecture can perform as an immersive environment.
